For many of us young LGBTQ students, we know how important—and stressful—prom can be. The ability to be unapologetically yourself should not interfere with any of your prom plans.
In high school, I felt contained by what my school expected of me. I never experienced prom as my true and authentic self. I am so excited to attend Queer Prom as an openly nonbinary student and activist.
Prom is a pivotal celebration that allows young people to express who we are and hold tightly to who we love. Too often, that is taken from LGBTQ youth. Queer Prom gives us the opportunity to make prom what we want—on our own fabulous terms—and nobody can take that away.
We hope to see you there!
